Something funny that just happened though (but it made my mom worry for me)

I made latte in our Vita-Mix for the both of us and made two cups. That was this morning. I just came downstairs from changing for work and asked my mom if she liked the latte. She said it was good, but why had I not drunk mine yet? I said I already did. The one on the counter was hers. She showed me an empty cup and said she drank one already. Turns out, the entire process of drinking my latte and washing and drying hadn't really happened XD I laughed really hard and I am drinking my latte now. It really does taste as good as it did in my mind :D

It is always different. Right now I am feeling like I want to go to school to drape my pattern, but also I don't want to go to school, but I am not really doing anything here anyway. I got very little done in a whole day

One time I time-traveled after work. If I could time travel on will, it would be sort of awesome to be able to go to free days and do work when I'm motivated and go to work days when I don't feel like sewing. The time I time-traveled after work was sort of scary. I was driving (this is before I got my license) and my dad and little sister were in the car and I was going down the road and suddenly it was a few seconds in the future. Everything jumped towards me it seemed, but probably only the span of maybe 3 or 4 seconds. So sometimes when I am alone and thinking, I wonder if I am still technically in the future, and I lost those few seconds of my life. Because I have not traveled back in time (not counting Daylight Savings - that wasn't real time travel) since I did that little jump forward in time. Maybe eventually I will go back in time and it will be fixed, but for now, I think I am a little bit ahead of the rest of you. Either that, or I am a little behind, because I missed out on those 4 seconds or so, and you are all 4 seconds older than me, 4 seconds ahead, and I am the one who is behind

Boo Business Class...

I was taking the second Exam (as in the BIG test) for my online Business Class, and on question 26 of 70, everything suddenly takes really long to load... This is a timed test. I had had 59 minutes left of 1:20. Starting from 26 it took 3-5 minutes to load each question. At 29 they stopped loading at all. We had to call the internet people and get it fixed, and then when I could log back on to D2L, I found out the the timer had kept counting down. I had 41 questions left, and only 20 or so minutes to do them all. Panic ensued! I finished with 5 minutes to spare, but it was a rushed, sloppy job and I got an 86% or so. I am a little upset, but oh well... that is one of the downsides of an online class!!

This morning my mom and I raked our leaves in the grass. It was hard work. We have a very very old rake, and it has a wood handle, and my gloves are leather on the back, but fabric in the front :( I am scared to wear them now... so I am wearing my knitted gloves now....

The Vita-Mix my mom picked it up today :)

Then we came in and I had hot chocolate with the Ghiradeli chocolate mix and made mochi
The Vita-Mix picked up tonight, not in that order that I said it

I went to work today. Auntie Karen was working! I ate a lot of good. Agapi gave me a sundae pie from BK. My prayers for ice cream pie have been answered. But my ice cream pie would be better than BK. Just as fattening, too :)

Today at work my energy level was low. I was like a character who is low in HP. And there was no food lying around to replenish my HP. I was sad until I got my break and ate a LOT of food and my HP bar filled up to almost full

How to Make 酒酿

Yay! I love this! It is delicious :)

First, you have to make some glutinous rice. You also need a yeast thing. I will make photos so you know what I mean :)

soak the glutinous rice

steam it!

Rinse it with cold water until it is about body temperature

This is the yeast I was talking about

Grind it up like this!

Mix it with the rice and put it into a glass jar like this:

Take a rolling pin and make a hole down the center because there will be water that comes out

Cover the top with two layers of cling wrap and a rubber band

Put it somewhere warm... like by the place the warm air comes out!

Wait for about 3 or more days and the rice will ferment and become delicious. Put it in a pot and heat it up (just what you want to eat) and add some sugar and water and you can cook an egg in it and it is delicious!

Red Bean Paste Recipe

Today my mom and I made red bean paste with the red beans that Evan gave to me :)
Here is the recipe with photo!

This is the type of beans that Evan gave to me. It is sort of expensive, but they were good beans! You can get cheaper beans - they work the same

The first step is to soak them overnight like this:

Then the next morning they will be all fat like this:

Steam the beans in a steamer. Then take it out and take out a blender. Put in some beans, and put in some water like this:

Blend it until it is smooth and fine, and then pour it into a pot with a straining bag in it:

After you finish blending all of the beans, you have to squeeze out all the water. It is hard work! We couldn't get all the water out, but it is ok, it just means you will have to stir fry it longer

Squeezing out as much water as possible and dumping out the water, you will be left with just the bean paste mush

Put it onto the stove and turn up the heat. Add some shortening and sugar (brown or black sugar)

We put in about 3 big spoonfuls of shortening. Just taste it to see how rich it is and adjust it

and some light brown sugar, some brown sugar, and some black sugar. Just taste it to see how sweet it is and adjust it

Stir it all up and cook it until it is dry and thick!

this is the process. I think you know what red bean paste looks like :D

How to Make Mochi

Today I am going to show you how to make mochi! Yesterday my mom and I made it and it is so easy!
All you need is this:
1 package of glutinous rice flour (the green one)
2 1/2 cup of water
1/3 cup of sugar

For the rolling part:
some cornstarch
some oil
whatever filling you would like!

First, mix everything together in a bowl. It is optional to add 1/2 tea of tea powder. We added it, but our color turned out a little strange...

It was still delicious!

Next, strain it into a steamer-friendly bowl

This makes it more smooth and less bubbles when you strain it!

Then steam it!

You can put a little rack under the bowl so it does not stick to the bottom of the steamer from the water if you would like it :D

Go do something else for a while! When it is does steaming, take it out and mash it a bit and let it cool down, but not too much or it becomes hard to work with!

I smashed it with the oiled end of a rolling pin :D

Sift some cornstarch onto some plates:

Oil your hands (it becomes difficult to wash your hands if you do not O.o because the mochi will stick really hard!
Then take a small piece of mochi and flatten it out

Fill it with the filling of your choice (we used red bean paste)

Roll it around in some cornstach:

And then you are done with one! Try to make them small size like the ones you can buy at the store. But I think it is human nature to make them bigger and bigger as you go, because it is actually easier to make them big...
Dust them with more cornstarch if you think they are too sticky, and put it in cupcake liners! Super cute!

When you eat it, please take small bites, because it is very easy to choke on something that is made of glutinous rice flour... and that would be terrible!

So... I really want to go to this art exhibition Carla is having, and I already took the day off of work, but I don't actually have a way to get there... After much fussing, I finally got the bus route, which is 3 buses that would take a total of an hour and a half to get there by 7PM. And impossible to get back to Burnsville transit because buses don't run that late. I can't drive there because I would get lost and have to find parking and drive downtown and drive in the dark, all of which are things I am terrible at O.o

Basically, does anyone know of any way I could possibly make it there?? I don't know if anyone else is going (though I'm trying to get my friends to go O.o ahaha) so I can carpool, otherwise I'll have to call my manager and see if I can pick up that Friday if she does not find somebody else to fill it already.... I need money anyway XD

This morning consisted of french toast at Tai's house that kitti made :3 Pretty yum, but I'm taking her to Sunny Side Up to show her some REAL yummy french toast!
then I drove home and chillaxed with my mom until going to MoA
Did I mention that last night I had a dream about the MagiQuest at MoA? Yes, I am actually sort of nerdy... little known fact :D I like Dungeons and Dragons, LARP, Munchkins, etc. Then I read about it in the paper this morning. Of course, I had to go see it IRL then! How easy that I was going to Moa already...

My mom and I got there early to try and get some shopping done first. No luck trying to find wool tights :( Sad face
Then we met up with Kevin at B&N
We walked around, went up to the food court and got Taco Bell, and for my ONE Cheesy Bean and Rice Burrito, I required a total of 10 packets of FIRE hotsauce XD NOMNOMNOM. Evan met up with us and got food. Then we went to Sanrio and I bought a key cover (photo on Poupee Girl!)for my key :3

Then Elaura showed up at some point while we were at Nordstrom Rack (no wool tights!) and then we went to meet Tom at Chipotle where he was chugging a Corona :D then we went shopping and some stuff. And ran into Jon!! At work! Looking sharp ;D being a warrior for the MagiQuest thing. I thought he looked rather like a shabby version of my marching band, but he is making his own costume cooler :D

Then we went and got something to drink because we were thirsty! AFter some more shopping and stuff, of course ;D we decided to sit in the lounge chairs in front of that Ruehl store (like Hollister, but with mirrors inside. It's the store that Kevin and I got separated in the first time we were doing a MoA excursion)

Then we went on wacky adventures, met up with Pudding, and finally made it to the MagiQuest (after stopping for our free chocolate at Godiva, of course! I tried the creme brulee chocolate and Kevin had the hazelnut caramel one. They were both pretty good!) It looks kinda like StarGate in the entrance, and like Dungeons and Dragons in the back :DDDD You have no idea how geeked-out happy I was! The wands are a bit ugly, but customizable, so I think I would have to pretty mine up :D

We will definitely have to get Mormon Tony and Nikki to come to this. They would LOVE it. And Kippy. and maybe Movie Man. All them nerdy kids :3

Next week we're gonna go watch Where the Wild Things Are

Anyway, so apparently people are always surprised to find out that:
1) I like hard rock/metal music :D I listen to pretty much anything from country (a la Taylor Swift) to classic to rock to pop, but apparently it is surprising that I really like bands such as Disturbed XD For future reference, I love Evanescence and Three Days Grace, too :D Some of my top (english-speaking) bands!
2) I like roleplaying games. Mostly because I do not know any that are around me, so I do not play, but really I like them a lot!
3) I am (verbally) violent sometimes. Maybe I only recently started the death threats, but I have always had violent thoughts :x I think that hanging out with Sierra made me make more death threat jokes X3 Haha! Because she threatened my life all the time so of course now I do it too! Pudding was all surprised when I said to him "Imma cut you!" because he never picked up the honey for me from Ren Fest :( I am sad for that. Of course he still thought it was not really threatening the way I said it, but I thought I was being scary >:D

In OTHER NEWS, I paid $20 to Chocolate for my Detour ticket today. I am gonna have an Artist Alley table to sell clothes, so I hope to see some of you there!

I decided to make a white ruffle underskirt with 5 layers of ruffles. And time myself. At 5 hours and 8 minutes, I have only to gather the waistline and make the waistband. omg. I need a gathering foot. Not one of those huge ugly ones that is actually making tiny pleats that look ugly on a ruffle, but an ACTUAL gathering foot that you know, gathers. With thread tension and sewing speed and some sacrifices to the sewing gods

Also, I have an enormous pile of Food&Family magazines. They're free, so we have about a thousand. Because they are basically magazine ads for Kraft foods XD Anyway, I want to make a scrapbook recipe book, so I am tearing out the recipes that I want to keep

I need to do that business homework. This class is hard!

Apparently there is going to be a remake of a Chinese drama called Huan Zhu Ge Ge. I love that series (though seasons 2 and 3 got worse as it went) and I love the girl who played Xiao Yan Zi (Little Sparrow), and I REALLY hope this remake is good... because usually they are so bad!!

Something to do with HD TV and it looking bad next to the hi-def dramas if it is not remade in HD blah blah and some cheese on top

In other news, I want to go see the Princess and the Frog or Frog Princess or whatever that Disney movie with the black princess is called. I THINK I already know the plot because I read a book where teh exact same thing happens. She kisses the frog, gets turned into a frog, and they go out to find the witch who had cursed the prince in the first place to argue that she had made a mistake. Later, they find thehouse of the witch, and talk to her, but it turns out that it is a DIFFERENT witch and tehy almost get killed, but they escape. And somewhere along the way they discover that the bracelet the princess got from her Grandmother or Godmother or someone was actually a Charm Reversal blacelet so if a witch ever tried to curse her, the witch would be cursed instead. Unfortunatel, when she kissed the frog while wearing the bracelet, it turned her into a frog instead of him into a human. so to fix it, they have to put the bracelet back on and kiss again. So now they have to find the bracelet, and along the way they find an otter and I THINK he had the bracelet? idk I read this book when I was very young. Then the grof princess pretends to be the swamp fairy with the help of her mom, who tells tho princess that after they turn 16 they become allergic to flowers (their family) because a long time ago their ancestor had mistakenly forgotten to invite a fairy to a party or something and she cursed their family so that even though they love flowers, if they toucha flower after they are 16 they become old and mean and ugly. IT happened to the princess's grandmother because she hadn't believed in the curs. Anyway, after they get the bracelet back from whoever had it, the real pond fairy gets back and is really mad at them and is going to curse them, but they trade her a bottle of Dragon's Breath for their freedom (they stole the dragon's breath from the witche's house) and she lets them go. then they fix the curse and both become human. Then they discover that the otter was her mom's bf who'd gotten cursed or something. idk. It was a good story :)

The Girl Who Leapt Through Time

Evan just came over and we watched The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, which was actually a pretty good anime :3 and ate pizza. and I swept the floor :D

also, just now my abs are sore... I cannot think of why, unless it was from the yoga I did, but that was this MORNING at around... 7:15AM... O.o Did I just not notice it all day? Unlikely! :3

Anyway, I got half my Business hw done, got started on the Cupcake Heaven bodice thing I am making (my serger is being odd... and the upper looper thread keeps breaking!) organized my sewing room a little bit, and spent too much time on the internet :)

I work the next three days. I think I get paid this Friday *cross fingers*
Except then I will go buy fabric at Jo-Ann :D so still no monies
I need to buy:
Obi fabric
underskirt fabric
underkimono fabric
Asymmetrical skirt fabric
other underskirt fabric if I end up making it black. I should make a black one just because I only have white :D

Tomorrow kitti is coming home, I think :D Idk how long she will stay, though :/ oh well

just want to let everybody know that I put coolant in my car. Also, I learned how to open the hood :D Yes, I did not know how to do that before... adding coolant was a three-person job :D Todd and I couldn't figure out how to open the hood, so kitti did it for us (haha) and then I opened the coolant container and added the coolant :3 I am proud of myself!

also, I got my Givenchy bag (that I won in a drawing at work) today! actually, it came a long time ago, but I finally remembered to bring it home... I am letting my mom use it for her travel bag for this week :) If I remember to take a photo, I will put it on my Poupee Girl!

Epic Day of Epic and Fail

This morning Kevin and I met up at MoA for some fun and shinanegans. FYI, I have zero sense of direction. I tried to park by the LRT station so I could meet up with Kevin right away, but I managed to park on the exact opposite side of the mall T^T so I walked through the mall and got there right as Kevin got off the train

We walked around the mall a lot, got free chocolate from Godiva (join their free membership - you get free chocolate every month), got free samples from Le Gourmet Chef, (neither of us had eaten anything yet) and then after a Caribou Snowdrift for me (WAY too sweet, do not ever buy that crap), and some T-Mobile info for Kevin, and some photos, we went to IKEA

State Fair

I came home and took a shower, washed my face, and used an "attractiveness mask" because I have been in the sun these past two days (even with lots of sunblock)
then I went and mowed the lawn because my little sister is still not home (she apparently said she'd be back by 3 or 4) and now I am sweaty. I thought I did a very good job mowing the lawn, but my mom pointed out all these spots I'd missed and I redid them. I really think I did a very good job, this time :)

Ren Fest Part 2!

anyway, back from the State Fair, so have some more Ren Fest photos!

This is a pretty fountain shop. When I am really rich, I will buy the fish one for chocolate. She will buy the glass table that has a turtle going through it for me :D Then we will live together so we can both use them XD

Twig the Fairy! Does every Ren Fest have one?? One of my friends stayed with the Festies one year, and I heard that this girl is actually a real bitch and very snooty when she's not acting. Which is unfortunate, because I like her costume. Her acting is sort of over the top, but I still think she is pretty cute :3 and small children like her :D
